The Hampstead Building Carrickmines

Cosgrove Electrical Services completed and handed over The Hampstead Building located in The Park Carrickmines. The Hampstead Building is the new superior addition to The Park joining The Herbert, The Hyde and The Iveagh Buildings.  Designed to meet LEED Gold Standards, this new office development delivers excellent energy efficiency and an innovative design style. Consisting of 5 stories over basement, The Hampstead Building offers over 5,389 sq. m (58,000 sq. ft) of flexible office accommodation with efficient floorplates and high quality specifications.

The Electrical Installation of The Hampstead Building was a state of the art installation using all of the latest and most up to date technologies including intelligent lighting control, security control and building management systems, all having the facility to be remotely monitored as part of the site wide network.

A new external LV switch room installed, tested and commissioned as part of the new electrical supply to The Hampstead Building. This new main electrical switch room supplied the 10no. Tenant sub-distribution boards, 2no. Landlord sub-distribution, the building management sub-distribution boards and items of plant such as air handling units and passenger lifts.

The latest in LED and DALI technology luminaries used on the project which were controlled by a flexible intelligent lighting control system allowing for the monitoring of presence, absence and daylight levels. The Emergency lighting installation consisted of stand-alone LED emergency fittings throughout with central test units located in each sub distribution board.

The Structured Cabling installation consisted of incoming services being brought to the MDF with the facility and flexibility for future tenants to install IDF’s to suit their structural cabling requirements. All the structured cabling was tested commissioned and certified to the relevant standard.

The fire alarm installation consisted of a Gent control panel and detection devices and was linked into numerous third part systems including the MCC panel, 3no. AOV systems, the lift, the disable refuge and WC system and access control system. The fire alarm system also set up to be remotely monitored from the campus management suite.

The CCTV installations for The Hampstead Building was a Hikvision IP solution with its own dedicated NVR with a monitoring facility from the campus management suite. High resolution camera were installed through the landlord areas of the building.

The access control system installed consisted of an Act 4000 Pro multi door controller with a total of 14no. Controlled doors including the main entrance, access doors to tenant spaces and back of house areas. The access control system was integrated as part of the campus wide access control system which can be monitored from the campus management suite.

A standalone bticino (Legrand) audio & video intercom system was installed at the main entrance of The Hampstead Building with the facility to contact any of the 10no. Tenant spaces.

A Baldwin Boxall disabled refuge and assisted WC system was installed within The Hampstead Building which was not only locally monitored but can be remotely monitored by the campus management suite via a signal input to the fire alarm system.

An extensive building management system was also installed on the project. Located in the roof top plant room this system controlled and monitored not just the plant room but the 2no. Roof top AHU’s, the roof top air conditioning units and the electrical and water to all the space throughout the building.
